Cosmetic dentistry in Marbella
Digital design, in-mouth trial and minimal preparation. In that order.
What advanced cosmetic dentistry means
Cosmetic dentistry is not about fitting large white teeth. It is about restoring proportion, alignment and shade in harmony with the face, the age and the way each person smiles. A result that draws attention to itself is usually a badly planned one.
Digital Smile Design (DSD)
We start from clinical photography, video of the smile and an intraoral scan. On that material we design the new smile digitally and test it in the mouth with a temporary before any definitive preparation. You see and approve the result while it is still reversible.
Minimal tooth preparation
We work on the principle of preserving as much healthy tooth as possible. In many cases porcelain veneers require minimal or no preparation at all. The less tooth we touch, the better the long-term prognosis.
Before planning anything cosmetic we assess gum health and bite. No aesthetic result lasts on inflamed gums or an unbalanced bite.

How we approach a smile makeover in Marbella
Cosmetic dentistry is the most common enquiry at our central Marbella clinic, and also the one where slowing down before starting matters most. Our first appointment is not about preparation: it is facial analysis, photography, video of the smile and scanning.
From that material we design the proposal digitally and transfer it into the mouth as a temporary. Patients leave with the new smile in place, show it to people, live with it for a few days and then decide. Adjustments happen at that stage, while it is still reversible.
Only once the design is approved do we make the definitive pieces. It is one extra step of work, but it is the difference between a result that fits the patient’s face and one that draws attention to itself.
- Facial analysis and video of the smile, not just photos of teeth.
- Aesthetic trial in the mouth before any definitive preparation.
- Minimal or no enamel preparation where the case allows.
- Gums and bite assessed first: nothing lasts without that.

Frequently asked questions about this treatment
01 What is Digital Smile Design (DSD)?
It is the process of designing the new smile on photography, video and an intraoral scan before touching any tooth. It lets you see the proposal, discuss it and adjust it while everything is still reversible.
02 Veneers or crowns — what is the difference?
A veneer covers only the visible face of the tooth and preserves more healthy tissue: it is indicated when the tooth is sound and the issue is cosmetic. A crown covers the whole tooth and is indicated where there is significant breakdown, a previous root canal or a fracture.
03 How much does a full smile makeover cost?
It varies a lot with the number of teeth and the technique. After the study and digital design we provide a fixed written quote. Giving a figure before seeing the case would point you in the wrong direction.
04 Does whitening damage enamel?
Supervised professional whitening, at the right concentrations and times, does not damage enamel. Temporary sensitivity is the most common effect and is managed with desensitising agents. Unsupervised products can cause damage.
05 Can I have cosmetic work done if my gums are inflamed?
It is not advisable. The gums are treated first. On inflamed tissue, the margin of a veneer or crown will not fit properly and the aesthetic result will be lost within a short time.
